Q Write two paragraphs, one to describe how English would be different from the way we know it if no determiners were available to be used in speech and writing and another one to describe how English would be different from the way we know it if no adjectives and/or adverbs were available to be used in speech and writing. For a review of paragraph-writing, see this free bonus resource: https://owl.excelsior.edu/writing-process/ Describe the function of each of these elements (determiners, adjectives, and adverbs) and give examples (ones that you have composed) to illustrate your claims about differences that would become apparent had we none of these elements. Once your paragraphs have been posted, read classmates’ posts and respond to comment about types of differences you have noted. Do not reference outside sources; use your own words. Compare your own explanations and sample sentences to those of classmates. Please note that you will not see classmates' postings until you have posted your own. Initial discussion posts are due by the fourth day of the academic week at 11:30 PM ET and responses to at least two classmates are expected by the last day of the academic week by 11:30 PM ET.

English language would have been completely different had there been no determiners. Determiners are the noun markers. They are extremely important as they form an integral part in proper sentence construction. Without the determiners the speakers of the language will have difficulty in expressing and comprehending one another. The determiners add value to a noun or pronoun. They quantify and demonstrate the nouns therefore they help the listeners to know how many or how much of something is being referred to.
